Japanese company launches new beatmaking App for iPhone and Mac

Tokyo, Japan August 4, 2026 SOUNDRAW Inc. (Headquarters: Shibuya, Tokyo; CEO: Daigo Kusunoki) today announced the official launch of SOUNDRAW Grid, a new music production app for iOS and macOS. Core features are available for free, with additional capabilities available through paid plans.
Since its founding in 2020, SOUNDRAW has provided an AI music generation service used by creators worldwide, primarily for video background music. Over time, the team received increasing demand from artists who wanted to use SOUNDRAW's sounds in their own music production. After introducing an Artist Plan, SOUNDRAW is now launching Grid as a standalone app, designed for everyone from beginners to professionals.
Grid was built to remove the barriers that stop people from finishing music: "I have ideas but can't finish a track," "I can't express what I'm hearing because of music theory," "I don't want to spend hours searching for the right sample."
Key Features

1. Intuitive beatmaking: select loops and layer them
Choose from 16 genres including Trap and Hip Hop, and matching loops are generated in seconds. The app automatically matches chord progressions and keys, so no music theory knowledge is needed.
2. Find sounds using natural language
Type in a feeling like "bright," "dark piano" and Grid generates matching loops based on your description. Turn your instincts directly into sound.
3. One-tap bass and melody suggestions
Grid automatically suggests basslines and melodies that fit the key and chord progression. The only decision: does it sound good?
4. Stem export and DAW drag & drop
Export your tracks as stems. On desktop, drag and drop directly into Logic Pro, FL Studio, and other DAWs. Projects sync between mobile and desktop: sketch on your phone, finish at home.
Ethical AI, by Design

Criticism of AI music services that train on copyrighted material or imitate existing artists is growing globally. SOUNDRAW has operated differently from day one: the company's in-house music team has spent over six years creating and curating the proprietary training data that powers all SOUNDRAW products.
"I used to dance. I know exactly what it feels like to have an idea and no way to get it out. I spent years going to New York, working with artists like Fivio Foreign and French Montana, learning what creators actually need. Paul Rosenberg saw where this was going early and invested. Grid is the tool I wished existed back then. Built on music we made ourselves here in Japan, nothing scraped from artists who never consented. A lot of our competitors can't say that." Daigo Kusunoki, CEO, SOUNDRAW
No scraping. No imitation. Fully licensed, original compositions only. Tracks created with SOUNDRAW Grid can be distributed and used commercially without copyright concerns.
